Community Reach Center is committed to providing quality service to the consumers in our community. In order to promote that standard, we have made it our goal to provide the clinical supervision and training to our staff that will allow them to provide the high quality of service to which our clients have become accustomed.

Supervision for Clinical Licensure & Certification

Community Reach Center provides its clinicians with several clinical supervision opportunities in a variety of venues and formats. Most often, clinicians receive individual clinical supervision from their program managers or other designated supervisors who have been specifically trained for this purpose. The Center’s clinical staff may also take advantage of clinical supervision in designated Supervision for Licensure Groups for each of the categories of clinical licensure in Colorado: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and Licensed Psychologist (LP). Additionally, Community Reach Center provides clinical supervision groups for those clinicians who are seeking the specialized supervision necessary to become play therapists, art therapists, and Certified Addictions Counselors (CACs).

Clinical Training

To keep clinicians current with the ever-changing clinical scene, Community Reach Center requires its clinical staff to gain at least 28 hours of continuing education each year. To supplement this requirement, we offer group training presentations on a monthly basis. Many of these trainings, such as our DSM-IV Refresher Series, are hosted in-house and are run by Community Reach Center clinicians. Typically these in-house trainings are scheduled to take 1-2 hours during regular business hours so that clinicians may attend on work time. Community Reach Center also periodically brings in top experts from around Colorado and the country to train staff in their particular clinical expertise. These trainings can be scheduled to last a full day or more, and are usually opened up to neighboring community mental health centers and schools that may want to attend. Some presenters Community Reach Center has hosted in the past are Patricia Nemec of Boston University, who presented on Psychosocial Rehabilitation, and Kim Meuser of Dartmouth Medical School, who presented on Dual Diagnosis Treatment. Employees of Community Reach Center are also encouraged to attend trainings which are not hosted in-house. Though consideration is always given to cost (which may or may not be covered by the Center), time, and supervisor approval, such trainings can also count towards the continuing education requirement of the Center.
